The cost of bathroom renovation in Toronto can vary depending on the type of bathroom and the contractor you choose. While most contractors will offer package pricing which includes the materials for anywhere between $10,000 – $15,000 for a 3-pc bathroom with bathtub, the true cost of labour for such a bathroom can range between $7,000-12,000.
One of the great things about a bathroom renovation is that unlike kitchens and other major renovations, you have a lot of control over how much you spend, without having to settle for a mediocre renovation job. Remember that roughly a 1/4 to 1/3 of a bathroom renovation cost in Toronto is made up of the bathroom fixtures and finishing materials, while the rest goes to the contractor for the labour and construction materials. What gives a bathroom its wow-factor is not so much how expensive your tiles or the vanity are, but how creative you can be in picking out colours and designs that go well together.
At Bath Boys, we have had clients who have spent as little as $,8000 for a complete renovation where the wow-factor was much greater than other projects where the clients had spent over $15,000 but the end result was just meh. You don’t always get what you pay for when choosing your materials for a bathroom renovation, so be sure to shop around and consider many options before settling with one.
Below you will see a breakdown of the type of bathroom and the approximate renovation cost associated with each. While we cannot speak for other contractors, we at Bath Boys aim to avoid any surprise costs and exclusions when quoting our clients. Therefore, the quotes we provide generally include everything from demolition, garbage disposal, to painting, caulking and clean up. If there are items we observe which may cost extra or have the potential for unforeseen complications, we’ll be sure to point them out to you so you are aware of them before the project has started. Our aim is to leave you with a ready bathroom to be used within hours of our work being completed.
Please note that the numbers are what we believe to be the industry averages and may not reflect our or anyone else’s quotes.

One word of caution to be said is to look out for contractors who may claim that they are experienced in bathroom renovations without showing proof of their work or providing any references. Bathrooms require a special set of skills and detail work which are different from most other aspects of interior renovations, including kitchens. You will run into contractors who will offer to renovate your bathroom for $2,000-$4,000, a bargain! However, in most cases either they have significantly underestimated the amount of work required, or are simply aiming for a low-quality job to get in-n-out quickly. A quality renovation job will never take less than 6-7 days to finish and anyone who tell you otherwise is either the Usain Bolt of bathroom renovations, or more realistically, trying to make a quick buck!
